Description
We know that self-care is critical to our physical, mental, and emotional health. Still, it’s so easy for self-care to fall into the cracks of our over-committed lives. Someone or something always calls for our attention to be cared for. Further, because we’ve been encouraged to prioritize others’ needs over our own, our commitment to self-care-withers. This class will examine barriers to self-care that we might find internally or externally within our culture. We’ll consider the extensive research supporting self-care as a path to improving our health and well-being while positively impacting the well-being of others around us. Through discussion, mindfulness practices, and journaling, we’ll discover ways to expand our self-care.
