Description

John Quincy Adams was arguably America’s most qualified president. He was the son of President John Adams, served in various diplomatic posts, negotiated major treaties, was Secretary of State, and was a member of the Massachusetts Legislature and the U.S. Senate. Despite this, Adams’ presidency was an unmitigated failure as his political opponents fought him at every turn. Yet, Adams went on to have a brilliant career as a Congressman after his time in the White House.
